16 days and 15 nights

01. SAT. Arrival in Addis Ababa. Transfer to the chosen hotel. Have a free morning. Afternoon (1400 hrs from the hotel) tour of the capital: visit Entoto mountain with views over the capital, the National & the Ethnographic museums, St George church and the Mercato, biggest open air market in Africa. Meals free. ON (overnight) hotel.
02. Drive to Awasa Rift Valley lake. Make a stop to the Tiya steles and then Zway Rift Valley lake for many birds. Reach Langano Rift valley lake for your lunch or a break (lunch can be in Zway or Langano). Continue to Awasa for a relaxing late afternoon walk at the shore of the lake or optional boat trip (by clients).

03. Early morning visit the fish market. Then after your breakfast proceed to Arbaminch (in amharic meaning forty springs) driving through the Wolayta people & villages and admiring spectacular green hills. Drive to Chencha mountain to visit the Dorze people, with their unique culture, houses and traditions.
Have lunch on the way. Dinner & ON Swaynes hotel Arbaminch.
04. Drive to Jinka, admiring on the way the Konso, Derase, Tsemay, Ari & Bena people + very attractive views. Visit a Konso people village to understand their culture and way of life, famous for their terracing agriculture and traditions.

05. Enter into the Mago National park and admiring mammals & birds proceed the Mursi people and their villages. Here for beauty women use to put round plates into their lips while men have different scarifications all over their body. Visit their villages and culture. Then afternoon drive back to Jinka. If time permits visit the very interesting ethnographic museum in Jinka.

06. THU. Drive to the Hammer people region and the village of Turmi. Being Thursday visit on the way the colorful market of Tsemay and Erbore people at KeyAfer village. Ones reached Turmi and the Evangadi lodge, you can walk some minutes to visit a Hammer people village and understand their way of life.
Lunch on the way. Dinner & ON Turmi at the Evangadi lodge (in bungalows or camping. Pls pass us your choice)
07. Morning drive to the Nyangatom people crossing the Omo river with small boats at Kangate. Walk to the villages & visit this other very interesting tribe of the Omo. Then back to Kangate, meet the vehicles and drive about 1 hr to visit the Karo people, for their very interesting decoration, scarification all over their body and culture. From Kortcho village you’ll enjoy also a spectacular view over the Omo river.
Late afternoon drive back to Turmi, visiting the Hamer people. One of these days with luck we’ll try also to participate to the Hammer marriage ceremonies, with different activities as the bull jumping; and in the evening the Evangadi dance.

08. SAT. Drive to Dimeka village to admire the very colorful Hamer, Karo and Dassanech people market. Then proceed to Konso and to Yabelo.

09. Early morning drive about 1 hour + 45 minutes walk to ElSod crater where Borena men extract salt from a marshy lake by hand & sticks. The salt is used for their cattle. Visit then the singing wells where the Borena men pass to each other the water and doing this hard work they sing. If time permits visit also 1 Borena people village. Drive then to Moyale Moyale, and make all necessary borders permits.

10. Proceed to the Chalbi desert, admiring very nice views and the Gabra people and villages. Continue the drive to Kalacha village.

11. Drive to Loyangalani, at bank of lake Turkana. Admire the Turkana and Elmolo people and very interesting villages.

12. Proceed to the Samburu National park. Afternoon have the game drive in the Samburu National park, one of the richest of fauna and flora (including the big five) in Kenya. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometer landscape features rocky battlements, dry riverbeds and thorn scrub. As for wildlife, Samburu offers sanctuary to the endangered Gravy’s zebra, the rare beisa Oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bath on the banks of the river in the evening.

13. Early morning enjoy a game drive in the Samburu National park. Proceed then to
lake Nakuru for the large number of flamingoes and more visits.

14. Drive to Maasai Mara National park, one off the best parks in Kenya and the region. Late afternoon make a game drive, with chance to visit lot of animals among which the big five. The Maasai Mara is actually an extension to the north of the world famous Serengeti in Tanzania, covering an area of 1,510 square kilometers. The highlight is between July and October, when the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle takes place - the annual wildebeest migration. This migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of the Serengeti that crosses the Tanzania border and rivers to reach the Mara’s lush grassland. The journey is haunted by predators: lion, leopard, and cheetah and circled by vultures. The crocodiles wait during the dramatic river crossings.

15. Game drives and enjoy the Maasai Mara. Meals & ON lodge
16. SUN. Drive to Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive of The Great Rift Valley.

Then transfer to the airport for departure
