01. Arrival in Addis Ababa. Transfer to the chosen hotel. Have a free morning. Afternoon (1400 hrs from the hotel) tour of the capital: visit Entoto Mountain with views over the capital, the National museum, St George church and the Mercato, biggest open air market in Africa. 02. Fly to Bahirdar. Morning drive to visit the Blue Nile falls (it takes about 1 hour drive and then 20 minute walk, each way). Admire these spectacular falls and amazing views. Then continue to the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie at Bezawit, with great views of the town and the place where the Blue Nile flows out of the lake. Dinner & ON hotel in Bahirdar

03. Morning after breakfast take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit a selection of the monasteries hidden on the islands and shores of this sacred lake. Visit the Zege Peninsula and the monasteries of Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane Mehret and in the afternoon drive to Gondar. It takes about 2 hrs driving, visit on the way very nice landscapes. 04. Visit the castles compound including king Fasiladas and other castles, King Fasiladas bath and the Debre Birhan Sellasie church (light of Trinity) with wonderful murals. Dinner & ON hotel in Gondar

05. Drive to the Semien mountains, for a very interesting full day excursion: admire spectacular views and with the chance to spot endemic animals as the Lammergeyer, the Gelada baboons, the Walya Ibex and more. Dinner and ON hotel in Debark town (or with supplement cost in a lodge in the park)

06. Drive to Axum, admiring very nice views over the Semien mountains and visiting Tigray people villages and culture. Dinner & ON hotel in Axum

07. Visit of Axum: visit the steles, St Mary of Tsion church (where legend says the Ark of Covenant is deposited), the bath & palace of Queen of Sheba and more. Dinner & ON hotel in Axum

08. Visit Yeha pre-Christian temple, Debre Damo monastery and Wikro Cherkos church. ON (overnight) hotel

10. Enter into the Danakil depression, admiring the Afar people and villages. ON camp AhmedAle.

13. Early morning, embark on a full day of driving to Lalibela. Here you will pass through several small villages, with typical sandstone homes of the Tigray people. En route discover the rock church of Yemerhana Kristos, a sanctuary remarkable for its architecture and its interior decoration. This jewel of medieval Ethiopian art was built in the 11th-12th centuries in a cave. 14. 15. After breakfast drive through the Ethiopian dramatic landscap. Enroute visit the 13th century of Hayk to visit the 13th century Monastery of Hayk Istifanos, if it is a market day you will have a good experience for Bati Color full market where you are going to find the Oromo, Amhara and Afar people after that continue to Kombolcha. 16. Crossing fantastic views, we reach for the afternoon Addis Ababa. If Sunday, on the way visit Afar & Oromo people market at Senbete village. Ones in Addis, short visit of the Mercato, biggest open air market in Africa. Evening Green Land Tours invites you in a traditional restaurant with folkloristic dances for dinner. Then transfer to the airport for flight back home.
